Sharing an electrical plan with your customer (and letting them mark it up)

Short answer to the question people ask Google and ChatGPT: yes — you can share an electrical plan as a link your customer opens in their phone browser, no app, no login, and yes, they can write on it. Here's why you'd want them to.
A PDF is a dead end. A link is a conversation.
Email a PDF and the best case is silence. Send a live plan link and the customer walks their own house on their phone — taps a downlight and sees the actual product, flicks between floors, shows their partner. Engagement is the sale: people commit to things they've interacted with.
Let them write on it
The underrated part is the notes. On a shared robot® Plan link, the customer can drop a note pinned to the exact spot: "can this switch go on the other wall?", "add a powerpoint behind the TV". So can the builder. So can your own crew on site.
That replaces the three channels where requests currently die — phone calls, texts and site conversations — with one place where every request is written down, positioned on the drawing and timestamped. You get notified, you answer once, and the plan stays the single source of truth.
What that fixes in real numbers
- Fewer site visits. "Come have a look at what we mean" becomes a note with an arrow. You answer from the ute.
- Bigger jobs. Customers who engage with the plan add things. It's their house on the screen — the upsell does itself.
- No he-said-she-said. Every change request exists in the requester's own words, on the plan. And when the extras stack up, the notes turn straight into a variation quote.
How to do it
In robot® Plan it's one button: Send to customer gives you the link (text it, email it, AirDrop it). The customer needs nothing installed. Your plan stays yours — they see the design, not your prices, until you choose to send the quote.
