Automatic SMS updates and reminders for customers
What texts your customers get, when they go out, and how to change or turn them off.
Automatic texts mean fewer “are you still coming?” calls and fewer wasted trips. They only go to customers you’ve turned SMS updates on for.
Turn SMS updates on for a customer
- 1Open the customer, either from Customers or from the Customer section on a job card.
- 2Make sure they have a mobile number.
- 3Turn on SMS updates.
- 4Tap Save customer.
Good to know
SMS updates are off until you turn them on for each customer. No automatic job texts go to customers without them.
The texts, and when they go
Reminders also go out for extra visits on multi-day jobs. Each text is only sent once for each booking, so customers don’t get repeats.
- Booking confirmed: when a job is booked on the calendar for a future time, or moved to a new time.
- 24 hour reminder: the day before the booking, from about 4pm.
- 1 hour reminder: about an hour before the booked time.
- On the way: only when someone taps Start job with Text [customer] you’re on the way turned on.
- Job finished: when the job is marked completed.
Turn texts off or change the wording
- 1Go to Settings and open Customer labels.
- 2Open SMS updates to see a preview of every text.
- 3Turn off any texts you don’t want sent. The change applies to all your customers.
- 4To change what a text says, edit it in Settings → Templates.
Online booking texts are separate
Customers who book through your online booking link get their own “request received” and “you’re booked in” messages by email and text. Those go out whether or not SMS updates are on, as long as they left a phone number or email.
