Optional items and payment schedules
Let customers untick extras they don’t want, and set how the job gets paid — deposit, stages, completion.
Optional extras let the customer build the job they want without asking for a new quote. A clear payment schedule means no awkward money chats later.
Make a line optional
On their quote, the customer gets a checkbox on that line. If they untick it, the totals update straight away. When they accept, unticked lines are left off and the totals reflect what they actually agreed to.
- 1In the quote builder, tap the line to open it.
- 2Tick Optional for customer.
Set the payment schedule on a quote
- 1Open Payment schedule in the quote builder.
- 2Tap + Add payment. On an empty schedule this adds a standard set of stages you can edit.
- 3Name each stage (e.g. Deposit, Completion) and set its %. The dollar amount works itself out.
- 4Remove a stage with the ×.
The schedule must add up to 100% before you can send. If you’re short, tap Put the last …% on … to top up the last stage. No schedule at all means full payment on completion.
Save your usual schedule as the default
Tap Save as default on any quote’s payment schedule and every new quote starts with it.
You can also set it from your profile: tap your profile, choose Profile & account, open Quote, then Payment schedule. Changing the default never touches quotes you’ve already made.
How the deposit ties in
When a customer accepts, robot asks whether you want to send a deposit invoice. It suggests the first stage of your payment schedule as the deposit %.
