How to edit, copy, move and resize items on a plan
Change an item’s details, copy it, rotate it, nudge it into place, resize icons and use the Tools — measure, notes, text and walls.
Once the products are down, tidying up should be quick. Here’s every way to change what’s on the plan.
Select an item
Tap any item on the plan. A row of buttons appears next to it:
- i (Details) — open its settings: type, plate, height, note.
- Chain — link it to lights, other powerpoints, speakers or circuits.
- Copy — make a copy next to it with the same settings.
- Rotate 90°.
- Flip direction — cameras and door entry only.
- Delete — switches ask you to confirm first.
Good to know
LED strips use a pencil instead of the i.
Item details
Tap Duplicate to copy it, Delete to remove it, or Done to save.
- Name — not shown for downlights.
- Type, Model or Variant — depending on the product.
- Plate finish.
- Mounting height (mm AFFL) — 0 shows as Ceiling.
- Note (optional) — anything the sparky should know.
Move and nudge
- Drag an item to move it.
- On a keyboard, the arrow keys nudge the selected item. Hold Shift for bigger steps.
- Ctrl/Cmd + C and Ctrl/Cmd + V copy and paste a product.
- Delete or Backspace removes the selected item.
- Esc cancels whatever you’re doing.
Undo and redo
Use the undo and redo arrows on the canvas, or Ctrl/Cmd + Z to undo and Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z to redo.
Resize the icons
- 1Tap Size in the tools row.
- 2With an item selected, − and + resize that product. With nothing selected, they resize the whole category you’re in.
- 3For finer control, use Size by product: a slider for each product that applies to every floor.
- 4Tap Reset on a row, or Reset all to standard to start again.
Tip
On a phone, it’s under ☰ → Product sizes.
Zoom and move around
Pinch to zoom on a phone or tablet, or hold Ctrl/Cmd and scroll on a computer. The ＋ and − buttons zoom too, and ⛶ fits the plan back on screen.
