Data, AV, security and the rack builder

Plan data and TV points, cameras and alarms, then build the data rack part by part so it lands on the quote.

Smart-home jobs have a lot of small parts. Put them on the plan and in the rack, and nothing gets left off the quote.

Data and TV points

  1. 1
Place a Data / TV plate from Powerpoints & switches.
  2. 2
Open its details. It works like a switch plate — pick the number of gangs.
  3. 3
Set each gang to Ethernet, Free-to-Air TV or Paid TV (Foxtel).
Tip

Turn on Filter → Data / Cat6 runs to see the cable runs on the plan.

Home technology

Home technology has TVs, projectors, in-ceiling speakers, amplifiers, WiFi access points, data racks and iPad controllers. Tap an amplifier and use Link speakers (zones) to join it to its speakers.

Cameras and alarms

  1. 1
Place a Security Camera from Security, then pick the Model in its details.
  2. 2
Don’t see yours? Tap + Add your camera, type the name and your price, and tap Save + use on this pin.
  3. 3
Tap Flip direction on a selected camera to point it the other way.
  4. 4
From Alarm, place PIR sensors, keypads, the alarm box, sirens and door swipes.
Tip

Filter → Alarm runs shows the alarm cabling on the plan.

Build the data rack

Everything you mount flows into your quote with part numbers, plus an allowance for Cat6 patch cables. The quote gets its own Data rack build section.

  1. 1
Place a Data rack from Home technology.
  2. 2
Open its details and tap 🛠 Build this rack.
  3. 3
Pick the Rack size — from 6RU up to 42RU.
  4. 4
Add parts from Networking, Audio, Camera NVRs and Data Rack Accessories. Watch them fill the Front elevation.
  5. 5
Need something else? Tap + Add a product…, type its name, RU and your price, and tap Add to rack.
  6. 6
    Tap Save rack.
Good to know

If the rack is full you’ll see Over capacity. Remove a part or pick a bigger rack.
